Bangkok 1st - 4th August (Day 1)

We were all packed up and headed to my mum's place so that the kids can have a good undisrupted rest and it would be nearer for us to go to Changi Airport from Punggol.

Catherine smsed me at around 8+pm to inform me that we might be going to one of the night spot in Bangkok. Too late, we have packed all leisure clothings but we can always buy suitable wear on our first day.

I tried to sleep early after some last minute stuffing and packing but only managed to sleep for 2-3 hours since I need to nurse Kennzo. Woke up at about 4am and then preapring myself and making sure that I have brought all neccessary things along. Kissed Adel and Kennzo before heading for the airport. We left the house at 5am and it was pretty easy to catch a cab. It was the first day of the 7th Lunar Month and there is already some people burning offerings at 5am!

We reached Changi airport in less than 15 minutes. Catherine arrive at 5.30am together with WY and their small luggage. Geraldine and Tuck were already there and they were just sitting behind us. I supposed we arrived about the same time but we did not know we are together for the trip. Agnes arrived shortly, followed by Val.
Early in the morning, we had an unpleasant encounter with one of the airport staff. He was so unfriendly and rude and he did not know if we can handcarry the ice pack. After examining it, he finally said no as it was a gel type and exceeding the volume. Surprise, surprise, surprise that our so called customer service sucks big time!

Touched down in Bangkok, changed currencies and off we went to hire a mini van to bring us to the hotel. It cost us 2600 baht for return trip, 8 persons.
Exterior of the hotel looks great but interior... ... What can we expect when we are paying only S$90 for 3 nights stay with complimentary lunch. Anyway it is just a place for us to rest at the end of the day.

Started our day with brunch at A&W before heading to Platinum Mall. I only managed to buy alot of kids' clothings and nothing much for myself.
The day was ended with Coca dinner and a nice Thai body massage. I did not really enjoy the massage as I was coughing away throughout the session. I had just recovered from my tonsilities but I guessed the air quality in Bangkok irritated my throat.

It was raining cats and dogs when we are done with the massage and we took a taxi back to the hotel.
