Yesterday morning met Catherine and off we went for our Sencha Wasabi Japanese Body Spa Massage with Subtle Senses, located at Mosque Street.
Overall it's thumbsup for the massage.
It's cooling for a start when the wasabi scrub was applied. When the masseur covered me up, I can gradually feel the heat building up and perspiration. I was led to another area for shower before we proceed for massage. I was still hoping that I can get to snooze but it was impossible as I can hear the people walking and talking outside my treatment room. Soundproof for the rooms are horrible as Catherine experienced the same as well.
Another thing which both of us do not like location of the bathroom. It was a seperate bathroom from the treatment room and the spa was UNISEX!!! Imagine ourselves wrapped in towels and walking to the bathroom when there are also men around at the same time. There was no dedicated bathroom area for the men and women. Maybe Catherine and I were pampered by the dedicated environment at Amore's Spa. At Amore, we had the bathroom inside the treatment room AND we can actually fell alseep during the massage.
At then end of the session, the sales consultant tried to get us to sign up a package with them. She mentioned that they only offer exclusive spa packages and do not entertain walk-in. She was trying to sell us 20 sessions (wraps with massage and usage of jacuzzi or steambath) for S$1400 plus previaling GST.
However, their brochure DOES have the rates for per treatment for the different types of treatments. When Catherine and I told her that we do not wish to sign up any pakages, she immediately offer us 1 more treatment at additional payment of $58.
We took up this offer as we do not have to commit for 10 sessions and the price we are paying for now is cheaper than the package (if we were to take up).
Our next visit will be 31 January 09.
