Xmas Lunch Gathering

There was another xmas lunch gathering for me yesterday at Shokudo, Hereen.

It was supposed to be at East Coast Park but due to the unforeseen weather, we decided to change the venue. Jasmine & Jayde, Juliana and Joanne & family were already at the restaurant when we arrived. Gwenda and family arrived shortly as well. I am glad that we changed the venue as it was raining from early morning till late afternoon.

Shokudo was a concept like Marche. Themed “Streets of Japan”, Shokudo offers the best and finest representative dishes of Japanese cuisine conveniently under one marketplace. Preparation “a-la-minute” is the call of the day with our chefs preparing your orders “live”. The exquisite breath-taking interiors and ambience mimic the classic landscapes and streetscapes of Japan literally will leave diners in awe!

The food was reasonably priced and selection was reasonable. Sam ordered a ham & mushroom spaghetti, california maki and omelette with oysters. I ordered seafood baked rice and rosti with sausage. My order wasn't satisfying and I was disappointed. I still prefer Swensen's baked rice and Marche's rosti better.
In terms of service, the staff was friendly and thoughtful as well. To create awareness, some of their staff were dressed up in cosplay and traditional costumes. They also had a drummer in the group. Unawared that Kennzo was sleeping in the pram, he was awakened by the drumming sound. They immediately stopped drumming and quickly apologised to me. One of them even helped me to collect my food.

The play area was pathetic and nothing much to keep the kids entertained. However, Adel was still engrossed in her own world of play. Adel did not mingle with the rest of the kids mainly because she seldom mixed with them.

When it was time for the gift exchange, the kids crowded around the table and waited for their turn to get their presents. The kids were excited and insisted that they get back the gifts that they had brought.

The kids mingle around shortly and then we left for our own programme.
